“My works are like the map of a Villa over the sea made of rooms that, in turn, give birth to even more rooms, and so on forever.”
 (Ray Caesar)

The new exhibition season at Dorothy Circus Gallery starts on 20thOctober 2018, with the show Lost in a Fragile Myth, an aesthetic and emotional encounter with the work of the artist Ray Caesar, renowned as the king of digital art avantgardes.
Four years after the success of The Trouble with Angels, Ray Caesar returns to Rome with Lost in a Fragile Myth, a brand new and exclusive solo show composed of new masterpieces in unique edition and small-run limited editions, accompanied by rare editions now sold out for some time.
The master Caesar, as a landlord in his own imaginary of the inconnu–always enriched of surprises and broaden on an intimate language –accompanies us once again through the chambers of his imagination, travelling with us across rooms decorated with caustic torments and sublime memories that crystallise in a time and place of our Soul.
In this new journey, the essence of the purest digital creativity is entwined with mythologies and contemporary symbolism, in a Provocative Surrealism where once again femininity and childhood take over –ancestral themes the artist has always identified himself with.
Caesar's gaze opens widely on the psyche, focusing on images capable of representing the most controversial human dynamics through an unforgettable aesthetic, which involves the viewer in a waltz of soft and voluptuous aerial images defined by a dense and stratified decoration born from his greatest knowledge of 3D elaboration tools.
Motionless landscapes, rarefied atmospheres and evanescent joyful moments carry on the mysterious tale that binds Caesar's creatures to each other, celebrating the cult of beauty through the whimsical lightness of Rococo, the sophisticated harmony of Art Deco, and the dreamlike hyper-modernity of Vanity.

With the new series of artworks in Lost in A Fragile Myth, the Artist confirms his interpretation of fragility as a healing force, in which sensuality and candour disguise with white Chemisesand refined fabrics and intriguingly whispering their soft-spoken secretive language.
Lost in a Fragile Mythbrings us in a Magical Time beyond this world, where the Artist, as the Landlord of Fantasy, invites us to participate in parties, games, luncheons on the grass and masked balls, with the company of his favourite artists Lancret, Fragonard, Boucher, leaving us submerged in a whirlwind of grandeur and echoes of the history of Art.

“Fantasy does not have paths bound to a destination,
fantasy in itself satisfies the desire to travel.” (Andrea Fiorentini)
