On May 30th 2018 Parione9 Gallery presents On the wild side a Stella Tasca's solo show curated by Marta Bandini and Elettra Bottazzi.
On the wild side, Stella Tasca's solo show, celebrates animal and plant kingdom’s beauty and magnificence. The artist's work and the title of the exhibition takes inspiration from Giacomo Giorgi's feature film On the wild side (2016), that analyzes the theme of hunting within our society. The documentarie's porpouse is to educate on the reality of this activity and to act as a catalyst for people approaching its vision.
In the same way, Stella Tasca takes the viewer to reflect and respect the wild side of our planet, accepting both its perfection and its cruelty. The harmonic interlocking of opposing elements such as water and earth, represented by the whale and the tiger, is perceptible in the installation of the works exhibited.

If her poetic research is strongly influenced by the imaginary hardcore punk, linked to the current Straight Edge, her artistic research and its application can be traced back to that of Pop art. Constantly related to the current political, social and historical context, the artist focuses on the concept of fair respect made of love, passion and justice.
The media used in the artworks such as wood, paper, fabrics, sprays, stencils that make up assemblages and serigraphs, together with the peculiar use of the light bulb, the drop of water and the written word reflect the will of Stella Tasca to represent the contradictions of our culture that makes us blind and disoriented.
Stella Tasca (Rome, 1977) lives and works in Rome. Born into a family of screen printers and tailors, she immediately approached the art world by graduating from the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome and the curatorial course organized by Ludovico Pratesi and Costantino Dorazio. In 2003 she opened the Galleria Stella in the center of Rome, where the major Roman exponents of underground subculture exhibited. In 2006 she opened Temporary Love Gallery, a concept store of limited-edition art and fashion objects designed by contemporary artists. Between 2010 and 2014 she collaborated with the Spanish artist Maria Angeles Vila Tortosa on the furnishing project Le Sorelle Carillon and in 2012 she wrote her first tale Il Club della Balena, with illustrations by Valentina Zummo. In April 2017 she took part in the exhibition "Cross the streets” curated by Paulo Lucas von Vacano (DRAGO publisher) at MACRO in Rome. Since 2016 she cooperates with Parione9 Gallery in Rome.
Parione9 Art Gallery is a young art gallery in the heart of Rome. It was founded in 2014 by Marta Bandini and Elettra Bottazzi, with the aim to create an innovative space to promote art with an innovative approach to the world of Illustration and Tattoo Art.
