Nick Farhi. F.I.L.A: Fall In Love Again

The work of Nick Farhi performs a stylistic ambition almost obsessive towards contemporary research. The palette and methods of painting that the artist prefers are known to be peculiar, if not unique, arising from a resilient labor interpolation which is justified in the light of the significance that this is occurring in the context of painting today that the broader vision of a new way of viewing the painting, not intended solely as a result of expression of matter on canvas.
Farhi is known for choosing detailed and romanticized of his imagery. Almost like an alchemist of space and time, the trompe-l'oeil depicting wine stains is created with oil paint to educate the visitor to a declination of the least known natural phenomenon that results in its inherent right to metamorphosis . Just as in the series of "drums", where paintings by Farhi suggests multiple layers of irony and associations of meaning completely new. And it is in this sense that his work gives the viewer the impression of a strong physical and spiritual magic.
For his first solo show in Europe, the artist has produced a body of work that could transmit an original charge of celebration emotional, developed in the United States and pictorially represented as a starting point. Noting the intention of literary shows, Farhi wanted the title of the project take place the function of a real reverb can power an ideal fusion of the acronym (FILA) and the premise of urban centralization around the principle of origin: where things start, they grow, and take in the time a constitutive value. In this sense, the phenomenon of falling (Fall In Love Again) is activated in key lyric through the interaction between the visitor and a sporty commonly known in the Western world. Just think of the painting takes shape around which the entire exhibition, which well expresses the combination of symbols and shared the nod gestural archetype lyric.
Thus emerges the aim to reinterpret the classic visual culture theoretically established in literary form, and a new acronym for an old sport dress accentuates the dualism that words show in English.

Jamie Sneider. Surface of Venus

At the end of five months, his studio was destroyed. You could still use, but the floorboards had become bluish green and the walls covered with colored dye, coffee, urine, and more. I did not care. Continued to leave messages: "Who is wasting so much trash in the bathroom? Enough! "He had never been my study, was his study, and neither of us had returned.
The color leaked until the stock of antique furniture downstairs. Chairs of the thirties were ruined, full of green food coloring. They never asked for the money back. She loved the colors, but always dressed in black; was an artist and a lover of art; possessed prints
of important things.
I had no idea where he was going. I had no faith: an atheist in a foxhole. It was so simple ... how to create something so beautiful to make you cry? One human thought. We lived between opposites, and we shared lies.
I saw the summer become winter. It had been a good idea to dance in the hospital to the tune of Little Richard and Fats Domino. And 'all happened very quickly; running the studio to do before we ran out of time.
I texted my sister with the photo of a new painting. "It looks like the surface of Venus," she replies. Who is more beautiful than Venus, the mother of Rome? If I can not have the real one, I will have her.
