The 3D Gallery in Mestre opens its doors to a new exhibition season ushering in the new year with a solo exhibition of Elisabetta Di Sopra, TEMPORARY. Introductory chapter of a series of exhibitions dedicated to the theme of memory, including both its meanings in the most intimate and personal and collective memory, the artistic intervention of Elisabetta Di Sopra says with deep awareness and the transience of existence and of what surrounds. Evoking gently subjective perception of life, memories and images here revived vanish and reappear as objects of the past, as traces of a story that we are committed to write every day. TEMPORARY, besides giving the name of the exhibition is also the title of one of the works presented, a video made within the home, kissed by the sun and dust. One after another, the furnishings in the house disappear along with the female figure that merges with the wall itself, the nakedness of sites like that of the person lose track of memory and free identity that is, placing them in a dimension new, regenerated, consigned to oblivion. Only in forgetting, in fact, you can find the source of the memory. The disappearance of things means that they can return one day in the present, in their truth, their corporeality. The video, which occupies the main wall of the exhibition space, welcomes the viewer inside and trap it in its decor, inviting him to be lost in oblivion. Track the passage of time, tangible proof ephemeral presence of the human being and nature to which the body returns, SUGAR is DEAD. Sculpture made entirely of sugar, SUGAR DEAD traces the artist's body, which is offered to the world, to the land, to its origin as to its breakup, reflecting on the theme of death as a return. Temporality becomes cyclical and memory in this case retains all the sweetness of his being fleeting, once again perishable to live, live again in memory, in a new life. A series of photos taken during the process of returning to the nature of the body of sugar, documenting the erosion of time in the light of remembrance. Finally, WALK EPHEMERAL, which will be performative artist with the involvement of the public at the opening of the exhibition, will be the last tangible trace of the passage of time and change of a body for the duration of the exhibition. A roll of white paper welcomes the visitor like a carpet or trail walk, one step after another, the paper will be trampled and worn, perhaps severed, by the passage of people and from its use. Impossible to predict the outcome, what will be the end of the exhibition will be preserved as a fragment of time, freezing the past in what remains.

Elisabetta Di Sopra was born in 1969 in Pordenone. He lives and works in Venice. He received in 2010 the Degree in Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice. His artistic research is expressed especially through the use of video language to investigate the dynamics more sensitive to the size of its daily and micro unspoken, where the female body assumes a central role. She is the curator of the competition of video art Maurizio Cosua, within the festival Francesco Pasinetti. Collaborates with the University Ca 'Foscari for the Short Film Festival in the promotion of video art and the Italian cultural association Archive Carlo Montanaro at the Fabbrica del See, Venice.
