Veronica Gaido, artist, portraitist and fashion photographer, will exhibit the project "ATMAN" at the Galleria Santa Maria Novella of Venice, from 30 August to 30 October 2014.
ATMAN is a photographic project that from the union of two basic elements: the soul and the water in which the movement that characterizes each image is an attempt to focus on the lost reality, clean your soul from the negative circumstances of life to start a new journey to a new life.
The trip is not intended, however, only in the material form of physical movement, but takes the load-bearing function of true teacher of life: the element that breaks the monotony and brings the individual to confront, in abandonment to the pleasures and discovery of a revival, with new reality or a new life, which can avert the danger of suffering, as for the refugees in the images in the show, where we read the endless circularity of the triad birth-life-death.
Establish a connection with the character portrayed by or with nature is crucial in the work of Veronica Gaido: the experience of a world too full, too much interior space furnished by the futile and trivial, is typical of the man and woman of the twentieth and twenty-first century. Walter Benjamin was talking about "man furnished 'to mean the colonization of inner space that literally left no more room to think, to be alone, to think. It is difficult to find a time for the penetrating and profound loneliness from which comes the inspiration of artistic or philosophical intuition.
The ideal condition for creation is therefore that dell'atarassia, that is, a state of imperturbable serenity, in which to be masters of themselves totally and completely dominate the passions by reason. From this state you get to the essence, Atman, the famous spirit, and that light, the sun, radiating and animates the whole, a male force in which Veronica is recognized at the level of thought.
These images are barely recognizable ones that make up the project ATMAN, a fluid kaleidoscope of colors and shapes in pastel tones. They look more like impressions captured by the memory of the artist, the interior space, psychic, button, intimate, inside the soul that urge in the body, and that reaches the surface expression, that the time for action, stasis reflexive, dynamics, the act of photography. A single existential sphere that communicates with the inside and the outside that takes place in space, thanks to the snap used by the needs of the artist.

Veronica Gaido, took his first steps in the photographic world as a teenager, before moving to Milan, where he studied at the Italian Institute of Photography and then, in the big cities to expand his experiences.
Artist, portraitist and fashion photographer, Veronica worked with leading fashion brand and publishing houses from the early nineties which led her to New York and Miami for the first advertising campaigns though, his eye goes beyond devoting himself to portrait that the door to a research work more intimate.
In 2001, collaborating with the Venice Biennale of Harald Szeemann for Bunker Poetic Marco Nereo Rotelli. In August 2002, made ??his debut with his first show "Quicksand" at Massimo Rebecchi in Forte dei Marmi, curated by Maurizio Vanni.
After the photographic experience, Veronica Gaido has felt the need to change, to explore new prospects using a "drone" for aerial shots devoted to the creation of video. In the same year, the photographer creates the project "Awareness of Matter" made ??on the marble quarries of Monte Altissimo in Pietrasanta.
