MACRO - Museum of Contemporary Art
The Museum of Contemporary Art of Rome, Il Museo d’Arte Contemporanea di Roma, has two locations: the former Peroni Beer plant, built at the start of the 1900s by Gustavo Giovannoni, refitted by french architect Odile Decq and opened in 1999; the former slaughterhouse of Testaccio (two pavillions), designed by  Gioacchino Ersoch at the end of the 1800s and reopened in 2002.
The two complexes, historical examples of industrial architectural design of the rationalist school, host collections in continual movement and growth thanks to loans and donations of new works.
