Guido Gozzano was inspired by the ladies hanging out at this historic pastry shop to write the poem “Le Golose” (The Gourmands) and high-society ladies still come here for their magnificent desserts, like “Barattina”, a genuine triumph of chocolate. But Baratti & Milano are also famous for gianduiotto, the typical chocolate of Turin made with chocolate and cream of crushed, toasted hazelnuts and Bicerin, a perfect drink of chocolate, coffee and cream to sip at one of the elegant tables overlooking Galleria Subalpina. Here you can also have lunch, a dish of typical Piedmont pasta, agnolotti “del Plin” (ravioli pinched between thumb and forefinger), or Piedmont-style veal with tuna sauce.
