Abstraction with Brown Burlap (Sacco)
Burlap here is treated by Burri with the intention of investigating the gaps opening up in the weaves of the canvas; the ladders, the patched-up holes, the darned rips and the silk inserts create an objective image that is chased after by the artists belonging to the Abstract art trend. The work was bought from the Galleria La Bussola of Turin in 1967.
