Alabardiere in un paesaggio
The character of the painting, placed to the right together with the white greyhound of which only snout and paws are visible, almost appears to move to the side to let the viewer’s look get lost in a river landscape, characterised by mountains in the background and by a cloudless blue sky. Landscapes used to be very dear to artists of the Venetian painting school, who made colour the ideal instrument to recreate the atmospheres of nature.
