DESCRIZIONE:

At the end of the Republican age, the area of the Roman Forum was completely occupied and it was Julius Caesar who expanded the area of the forums. Today, the grand Via Dei Fori Imperiali (1931-33) acts, in a certain way, as a divider, as this road built by order of Benito Mussolini arbitrarily separates the two forums on either side. The area of the Imperial Forum starts at the Trajan Column and ends just before Piazza Corrado Ricci with the Forum of Nerva, while the Forum of Vespasian, also known as the Temple of Peace, is almost totally buried.
