Arezzo - Recently, the city of Cortona hosted a delegation of representatives of two major French institutions, the Louvre Museum and the Henry Prades Museum of Montpellier. They came to the city to meet the leaders of the MAEC and the city administration.

Following the success of previous collaborations with the Museum of the Etruscan city of Cortona, which resulted in the exhibition "The Etruscans from the Arno to the Tiber" in 2011, the Louvre intends to consolidate its relations with the establishment of Tuscany.

A new exhibition project is in the plans: it will start in 2015 in Paris and Montpellier, a town known for the Etruscan-Roman site of Lattara, and will come to Cortona in 2016.
The title chosen, which is still tentative, is "The Etruscan writing and the Mediterranean world", and will present the fascinating language of this Italian civilization, thanks to works from major European, Algerian and Tunisian museums.

Before 2016, the Musée du Louvre-Lens is collaborating in the exhibition "The Etruscans and the Mediterranean. The city of Cerveteri", currently on display at the Palazzo delle Esposizioni in Rome until July 20th, 2014.
