Florence - Five halls (19 to 23) of the Uffizi Gallery will re-open officially on April 29th, 2014, after some renovation works within the project Nuovi Uffizi.
The new setting, which was possible thanks to a major donation from an American family, will show 44 masterpieces of the Italian 15th century.

According to a museographic concept already adopted in the rest of the Gallery, the works were divided according to their geographical and cultural provenance: the tour begins with the school of Siena (hall 19), which has never had a dedicated area in the museum until now. Here visitors can take a look to the polyptychs by Giovanni di Paolo and by Vecchietta, with their gold colors and the fine predellas by Neroccio de' Landi and Sano di Pietro.

Halls 20 and 21 are about to welcome the Venetian school, with the "Allegoria Sacra" the "Compianto sul Cristo motto" by Giovanni Bellini" and the triptych with "Scenes from the life of Jesus" by Mantega. Besides those, two works by Antonello da Messina representing the "Madonna with Child" and "St.John" will be displayed.

Hall 22 is devoted to the school of Emilia-Romagna, and is home to paintings of the school of Ferrara, Bologna (with the "Sacra Conversazione" by Francesco Francia) and Forlì, with authors such as Melozzo da Forlì and Marco Palmezzano.
Finally, hall 23 will host the lombard school, with works from masters between the 15th and the 16th century, including Vincenzo Foppa, Bernardino Luini and Camillo Boccaccino.

Differently from the renovation works carried on until now, which allowed to acquire unused spaces, this one was aimed at updating conservation and safety systems.
