Milan - Approximately 140 works displayed in 3 floors and other exhibited on rotation, over 100 volunteers and dozens of restorations supported also by private individuals.
These are the first numbers of the new Musei Civici of Monza, which will open its doors at the Casa degli Umiliati, a 16th-century building near the Cathedral, on June 28, 2014.

The museum project, curated by Dario Porta and Francesca Milazzo, offers an extremely traditional approach, aimed at presenting the artworks without the support of interactive technologies, considered excessive for the small size of the space.

The exhibition will welcome visitors through the main entrance of the cloister: there will be displayed remains from the Roman age. The itinerary will then lead to the interiors of the ground floor and the first floor. They will exhibit the history of the city from the medieval age, the 19th century and 20th century, until now, with a focus on the new Biennale Giovani.
The basement hosts a conference room, which is also accessible from the large entrance on the street.

The 13 sections will present paintings, sculptures, ceramics and other works by artists known in the art scene of Monza, with Mosé Bianchi, Pompeo Mariani and Anselmo Bucci, but also Arturo Martini and Angelo Inganni.
For the opening, which anticipates that of the Villa Reale, the Municipality of Monza created campaign with 3 short movies dedicated to the artworks, the volunteers who will join the staff of the museum and staging.
