Milan - A new project, promoted by the City of Milan, in collaboration with Civita, Contrasto and GAmm Giunti was presented at Palazzo Reale. It will give back to the city and international visitors a new space dedicated to photography, in the setting of 13th-century Palazzo della Ragione.
The initiative is part of a bigger plan, aimed at establishing a network of different institutions, each one with a cultural function and a specific mission.
Thanks to the works of renovation, one of the oldest historic buildings in Milan will open again presenting photography exhibitions. The Administration thought that this form of art was the best for a growing audience and particularly for young people.
The space will inaugurate with an exhibition that was already part of an international tour. "Genesis" by Sebastião Salgado, recently on display at the Casa dei Tre Oci in Venice, will be hosted in the new venue from June 27th to November 2nd, 2014. The message of this event seemed appropriate in the perspective of Expo 2015.
After "Genesis", other exhibitions will follow between November 2014 and February 2016: William Klein, Walter Bonatti, Grand Tour Italia, Edward Burtynsky and James Nachtwey.
