Ferdinando de' Medici goes back to the French Academy

Rome - Villa Medici, home to the French Academy in Rome, has just acquired a portrait of Ferdinando de' Medici, he who completed the works for the establishment of the house, when he was 15 years old, and who lived there until 1587.

The painting, created by Jacopo Zucchi around 1575, was positioned in the rooms belonged to the Cardinal, decorated with frescoes by the same artist, in order to highlight its historical value.

Besides the new entry, which is already open to visitors, the French Academy will present a new program of guided tours, on May 18th, 2014. They are designed for families, children and adults, and mix art, history and creativity.
Activities will be shown during a free launch party, and people will have the opportunity to join gratis four tours, scheduled from 10.30am to 6pm.
