DESCRIZIONE:
The basilica, in Venetian San Zanipòlo, is, together with Frari, the most majestic Gothic church of the city. Started in 1246, it was only completed in the mid-XV century with its five amazing polygonal apses, a masterpiece of Venetian late-Gothic art. The facade, with the portal by Bartolomeo Bon (1459-61), leads into the over 100m long majestic interior, with three naves divided by huge cotto-tiled pillars in which masterpieces by the main Venetian artists are located.
