MARS presents "Opus", a solo show by Valentina Palazzari, curated by Fabio Carnaghi. The exhibition is the fourth in a series of special projects entitled “My Room On Mars” that will present new points of view of MARS as anomalous white cube.
The artistic practice of Valentina Palazzari emerges from the physicalization of the action on the matter. A matter malleable and strong at the same time: materials from the building site, as electro-welded meshes, iron’s structures, in other words modular elements, conceived to be invisibles in the concrete.
In the site-specific project for Mars, Valentina Palazzari restructures the space backwards: the modular-geometrical fragmentation is a method between architecture and archaeology. “Opus” is a temporal landscape, based on the livest survival.
Valentina Palazzari, born in Terni, Italy. Lives and works in Rome. She has recently shown in museums, institutions and art galleries such as Reggia di Caserta and Chiesa di Santa Rita in Campitelli, Rome. She has presented site-specific projects in Forte dei Marmi and Todi.
