Turin pays tribute, in a collective effort and with great commitment, to one of his best sons -Primo Levi- with an exhibition in the Medieval Court of Palazzo Madama.
Just in 2015 will be released in New York the complete edition in English of the works of the turin writer, full and definitive international consecration of Levi, unique Italian contemporary author that have this recognition.
The exhibition is sponsored by the International Center for Studies Primo Levi on the occasion of the seventieth anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz.
It will be central the description of the extraordinary contribution that, from "Se questo è un uomo I sommersi e i salvati", the writer has given to the knowledge of the Lager. But major outstanding are other discoveries offered to the visitor: the ideas of Levi about writing directly expressed through his voice in numerous interviews often unpublished; his work as a chemist, illustrated by period instruments granted by the Museum of the University of Turin; its tests of sculptor copper wire proposals for the first time to the public; the interweaving of the many aspects of a multifaceted personality shown in a succession of moments exhibition of plant new and original.
The exhibition was conceived and designed for everyone, but especially for the younger people, given the importance that Levi has culture and our school and other countries. The set up of a completely new and -in its original essence-of superior in terms of aesthetics, is designed to make traveling exhibition that will tour several other Italian and foreign cities.
There is also a full program of events and initiatives of different nature (an evening at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Turin, multilingual readings, conferences and debates, book presentations, film projections) addressed to all citizens, while some morning events will be explicitly directed to the public schools. In this regard, schools can take advantage of guided tours conducted by specialized personnel and educational courses of study also hosted on the website of the International Study Centre Primo Levi.
