Adaptation focuses on the ability of Chinese architects to be able to manage the constraints imposed by the context, by the client and the money available. Their work is prone to change, and reveals a new way of understanding the art and culture of building, given by a modern interpretation of the traditional spatial concepts, to a revitalization of the industrial heritage and the reconstruction of distant geographies. Through the use of models, photographs and short films, Adaptation presents an evolving profession, through the generations. Curated by Marino Folin & MovingCities, the exhibition takes place at the Palazzo Zen, cultural home of the Foundation EMG • ART, recently restored by the study of Chinese architecture O-Office.
