This villa, once Villa Mattei, dates back to the 1500s but it was modified by the french architect Pierre Charles L’Enfant. Located on the western summit of the Celio, this verdant space is particularly fascinating as one comes into contact, simply strolling about, with ruins from numerous ages, dating back as far as Flavius and Trajan.
