Church of Santa Passera alla Magliana
Facing the Tiber, with its apse on Via della Magliana, is a church founded in the Fifth Century and originally named for the egyptian saints Ciro and John, beheaded in 303 during the persecutions of Diocletian. In the Middle Ages, starting in the Eleventh Century, the name was corrupted slowly to Abbas Cirus, Appaciro, Pacero, Pacera and finally, Passera. The church is comprised of three superimposed sections: that which is visible from outside dating back to the Fourteenth Century, and the part underground which holds the remains of a crypt-oratoryfrom the Fifth Century and, finally, the underground tombs
