Centrale Montemartini
A former thermal-electric power plant built between 1911-13 and transformed into a museum with the classical pieces of the Capitoline Museums. This occurred after 1995, when part of the Capitoline Museums were closed to repair potentially hazardous water leaks. In 2005, only some pieces were returned and the Centrale Montemartini became a permanent institution, characterized by its happy blend of industrial archeology and the real thing. The exhibits are organized along three basic threads: Republican Rome; Monuments of the Ancient City Center; the gardens, imperial residences, the  domus.
