The Entombment
This work was done by the famous painter for the Vittrice Chapel of the Chiesa Nuova. The painting was immediately a great success but it didn't end up in a museum as a result of controversy surrounding the painter's work as with many other of his paintings. Napoleano took the painting out of Rome to the Louvre in 1797 and after the Restoration in 1817, it was returned to Rome and taken in by the Vatican.
