The Final Judgement
This splendid series of frescoes by the great master of roman painting of the Second Century, was in part destroyed in 1527 for the new choir  and by renovations in the 1700s. It was rediscovered under the plaster of the counterfacade in 1900. Today it is visible by request and upon going behing the choir one may enjoy, up close, the incredible splendor of this extraordinary work.
