Opened only in 2006, the museum was conceived to celebrate the centenary of the International Exposition of Modern Decorative Arts which took place in Turin in 1902. It is arranged on two levels; in addition to the permanent collection of giftware and design, set up in the Galleria Soprana, it is also possible to visit exhibits and temporary shows in the Galleria Sottana. The works to be admired include sculptures, jewels, tapestry, etchings, photographs and, since 2010, the XVII-century Altar Frontal by Pietro Piffetti, from the nearby church of San Filippo Neri.
