Located on the ground floor of Palazzo Mocenigo (on the first floor the offices of the Circuito Cinema Comunale – Municipal Cinema Circuit), the building was opened in 2008 and houses and expands the programmes of Videoteca Pasinetti, the municipal video archive. Classic films in subtitled original version, art-house film festivals, Venetian films and videos, art-house film premiers from the independent circuit, book presentations and meetings with filmmakers: this is the wealth of the screenings of Casa del Cinema, which also features ten individual stations to browse the film archive (over 7,000 titles) and for guided browsing of cinema-themed websites, and an exhibition area for photo exhibits.
