Santa Croce

Prada Foundation
The majestic building was made by Domenico Rossi between 1724  and 1728 on the model of nearby Ca' Pesaro by Longhena. The facade overlooking the Grand Canal (visible from the end of the calle) is, traditionally, the main one with two ashlar stone levels decorated by masks and two main floors separated by two different kinds of columns. The palace was owned by the Cornaro family in which the famous Catherine, queen of Cyprus buried in San Salvador, was born. Today it is the seat of the Prada Foundation which holds temporary art events.
