The polyptych, signed and dated Joannes Bellinus F. 1488, was created for a commission by the Bernardo family, whose coat of arms appears at the base of the frame. The two side sections depict Saints Andrew and Nicholas on the left and Peter and Paul on the right, whilst the apex depicts Christ as the man of sorrows.
