The decoration of the nave ceiling was the first work the painter executed for the church. The three large insets depict the Apparition of the Virgin to St Dominic, the Institution of the Rosary and the Glory of St Dominic, celebrating the festival of the rosary shortly before it was confirmed in 1714, and the role of the order in its dissemination.
