One of the historic restaurants of Turin, Gatto Nero boasts a glorious past and still has a legion of enamoured customers; here, however, you do not come for classic Piedmont dishes, but for a piece of Tuscany (that still leaves room to other offerings). Since its establishment, it is run by the Vannelli family, with a solid cooking without room for experimenting – creamed cod with potatoes, seafood pappardelle, Florence-style tripe. The wine selection, made by the junior family member, Andrea Vannelli, is very interesting.
