DESCRIZIONE:
The Emilio and Annabianca Vedova Foundation, situated at the Zattere in Venice, raised with the aim of promote art and work of Vedova and highlight his importance in the history of 20th century art. The Foundation owns two permanent exhibition spaces for Emilio Vedova’s works: the Magazzino del Sale and the Studio Vedova. Commissioned to the architect Renzo Piano, who was bound to Vedova by strong ties of friendship, the Magazzino del Sale project left the original brick walls and roof trusses unchanged. Ten robotic shuttles move along a rail running between the trusses for almost the entire length of the building. These electronically controlled devices equipped with extending mobile arms and a winch retrieve the works from the archive, transport them to the exhibition space and place them in the intended position, in front of the visitor.
