THINGS TO KNOW: The bridge owes its fame because it’s the mythical place where the battle took place on 28 October of 312, which decreed the end of the reign of Maxentius and the transfer of power over the Roman Empire to Constantine. It was here that according to legend, the victorious emperor would have had the vision of the Cross with the famous words In hoc signo vinces, so often reproduced in Christian iconography.
