Arezzo - The city of Arezzo prepares to become again an open-air stage. The second edition of ICASTICA, a public international cultural initiative that aims to merge visual arts with entertainment, theater, dance, poetry, design and seminars, takes place from June 15th to October 13th, 2014 .
After the success of 2013, the event returns this year in more than 30 locations, bringing new vitality to the city center and its museums, historic buildings, churches, squares and gardens.

On this occasion, various international artists will rediscover Cimabue, Piero della Francesca and Giorgio Vasari. The most innovative contemporary art will revitalize the eternal past: they will draw inspiration from it and will be displayed in an architectural context full of works from the 14th and 15th century. The goal is consistency: the re-launch of Arezzo, a city that has given birth to many famous historical figures.

ICASTICA means "art of representing reality," conceived in this case as an effective, evocative and concise representation, one which is able to "recover" and "revitalize".
In 2014, the event will focus on the theme of rebirth: art, as a form of experience and history, here symbolizes what is around the "crisis point" and the desire to reinvent themselves.

The inauguration, scheduled for Sunday, June 15th at 4pm, will be followed by a meeting of the members of the Scientific Committee, which will visit the locations and vote on three artists, who will be honored during the subsequent months.
