The event will take place on  Sunday, October 28 at 7PM.??

The conference will focus on the link between the genius of Caravaggio and contemporary arts, as a new installation of artist Alberto Bartalini entitled "Toilet. From Caravaggio to Jacques-Louis David" will be  presented to the public. The artist and the curators of the installation - Luperini and Carofano - will take part to the conference. The event will take place on  Sunday, October 28 at 7PM.

The opera "The Sacrifice of Isaac (lit by night)"  was originally part of a private collection in Naples, and was then sold at Christie's in Rome on April 13, 1989 as "copy of Caravaggio". The poor conditions of the canvas, due to oxidation of the painting, prevented at that time a proper analysis of the opera. Few years later Maurizio Marini conducted a more detailed investigation on the opera using X-rays and he discovered that the painting was an original work of Michelangelo Merisi.
Marini’s opinion on the attribution of “The Sacrifice of Isaac” to Caravaggio is now credited by other experts of Caravaggio’s works.
