Venice - Vela spa, a company of Gruppo Avm, in partnership with ARTE.it presented the new app "Venezia Unica" for smartphone and tablet at Ca'Farsetti, the city hall, on March 7th, 2014.
The App is part of the bigger project Venezia Unica, the portal for tourist information and for e-commerce in the City of Venice, and aims at being an additional tool for promotion in support of the portal itself.

The guide of Venezia Unica is available for free download on Apple Store and Google Play (android) in two languages (italian and english) and allows to tour and discover the city in an easy and immediate way. With more than 300 georeferenced locations, featuring images and artists' biographies, it is possible to reach many points of historical and artistic interest, but also restaurants, bookshops and much more. Users also have access to information on public transportation, available through augmented reality tools, just framing the nearest dock to view lines and timetables on the screen. This will allow a better organization of the transfers.

The guide is also linked to an up-to-date calendar of all the current and upcoming events (exhibitions, events, the Biennale, etc.), with a short description, their location and the best route to reach them. In addition to this, also news on shows, happenings and public transportation are available and can be updated on demand.

Once installed, the App also works when offline and allows to check all these services with no need to be connected all the time.
