Venice - Until June  29th, 2014, the city of Venice becomes a real open-air stage, thanks to the performances of the Biennale Dance Festival, which is titled "mondo novo. gesture, place, community" this year.
The event goes in parallel with the 14. International Architecture Exhibition, which Rem Koolhaas imagined as a multidisciplinary experiment, aimed to involve all the other sections of the Biennale.

It is precisely in this perspective of contamination between different arts that "Aura" takes place. This project, directed by Virgilio Sieni, consists of five variations, performed by international choreographers, who recreates the artworks of four venetian masters in different areas of the city.

Jérôme Bel enacts "Mondo novo" at the Conservatorio Benedetto Marcello, inspired by Giandomenico Tiepolo's fresco at Ca 'Rezzonico.
The Theatre of Palazzo Grassi is the stage for "Only with R / Perspective(s)", by Roberta Mosca and Laurent Chetouane. This performance recalls the well-know painting of "The Miracle of St. Mark" by Jacopo Tintoretto from the Gallerie dell'Accademia.

"The Virgin Project" is presented at Ca' Giustinian, where Jonathan Burrows and Matteo Fargion interpret the "Madonna and Child in Glory" by Giovanni Bellini, a masterpiece dated around 1485 and also displayed at the Gallerie dell'Accademia.

In the main building of the Biennale, Saburo Teshigawara put on a show about "The Naked" by Giorgione, the fresco dated around 1508, which was detached from the Fondaco dei Tedeschi and is now at the Galleria Franchetti Ca 'd'Oro.
Finally, the "Mondo novo" by Tiepolo is enacted also by MK / Margherita Morgantin in "190cm ca."
