DESCRIZIONE:
The XVII-century building by Carlo di Castellamonte in piazza San Carlo was restructured in 1753 by Benedetto Alfieri however leaving its original imprint unchanged. Residence of the ambassadors of France, since 1839 it was the seat of the Philharmonic Academy and since 1947 of the Society of Whist (founded in 1841 by Count Cavour). Its rococo decorations are still intact, especially in the gallery and the octagonal parlour.
