As part of the planning of interventions scientific the Biblioteca Reale di Torino has identified a number of specific actions, including the reorganization of its archives on the "Relazioni confidenziali del Comandante dei Carabinieri al Re".
This intervention, currently underway, is to coincide with the Bicentennial of the Carabinieri, the opportunity to develop important documents in the archives and collections of Turin, witnesses who have given birth and life to this show thanks to the collaboration between the Royal Library, the State Archives of Turin, the Historical Archive of the City of Turin, the National Museum of the Risorgimento, the Carabinieri and private collectors.
The title of the show, I carabinieri del Re, aims to focus on the deep connection between the dynasty of Savoy and the Carabinieri Corps. The foundation of the Carabinieri involved three sovereigns of the House of Savoy, Vittorio Emanuele I, Carlo Felice, Carlo Alberto. The time span considered it starts with the birth of the body in 1814 and ending in 1849, with the end of the reign of Charles Albert, in a web of legislation and events related to the activities of the Police in the State knows baudo . An exhibition thus not only celebrating, but also able to relate sources and narratives on the weapon, presenting them to the public through the precious wealth of information that the documents contain.
The Library has made ??this show thanks to the funding of the Association Metamorphosis-which operates in the field of Cultural Heritage - part of an agreement for scientific and cultural collaboration and with the support of Reale Mutua Plank and Jordan. Metamorphosis and the Library Company Hapax availed themselves of Turin, which is specialized in the development of Cultural Heritage.
