Flags

Devised specifically for the marvellous architecture of the Venice Serre dei Giardini, through the use of videos, installations and performance, Flags offers alternative views and narratives, new images, hypothesis, behaviours, and diversified strategies for analysing individuals, perception, space, images, and social dynamics. The starting point of this exploration is La Resa by Fabio Mauri, a seminal work from 2002 which theorises the surrender of judgement as a precise choice: “Perhaps a certain amount of surrendering might reveal a new, alternative, peace”.
From the exceptional to the absurd, the exhibition poses questions in a great wealth of mediums.
