Sophie Westerlind. Intimità

The paintings and drawings on display reflects on the theme of intimacy. The subject is central for the process in Sophie’s artistic practice. Human relationships and everyday life are themes that characterize the work in graphite on paper, photolitography and oil on canvas. The portraits have often been executed in very limited personal spaces and requires a trusting relationship between her and her sitters. 

Sophie was born 1985 in Stockholm, Sweden. She received her BA from Central Saint Martins’ 2011 and her MA from Royal College of Art in London 2013. Intimità shows selected work from the two years Sophie has been based in Venice.
