On Friday 25th at 18.30, the international exhibition OLTRE ROMA will be opened at Palazzo Falconieri (Hungarian Academy in Rome). The exhibition is organized by Sabino Maria Frassà, promoted by the Hungarian Academy in Rome – Balassi Institute, by Giorgio Pardi Foundation, CRAMUM project, and supported by the Ludwig Muzeum, by the Polish Institute in Rome , by Rome Municipality, by the childhood associations ASM and Ama Nutri Cresci.
The exhibition is the final step of the culturalproject OLTRE,whichstarted in Budapest in 2015 and came to Italy first in the House Museum Boschi Di Stefano in Milan then at Museo Garda in Ivrea.

While presenting the exhibition, the curator Sabino Maria Frassà, highlights that “now more than ever making Europe is what matters. After years of rules, it is time to work in order to create a European culture able to give the peculiarities of each country the right value”.
The exhibition OLTRE ROMA and the 22 artists from Italy, Hungary, Denmark, Germany, Poland, China and Malaysia all share this aim. They tell how Rome can be seen not only as the cradle of a past culture, but also as the fulcrum of contemporary European culture.

What is the meaning of being contemporary, if not linking different cultures and connecting past and future?
Julia Fabenyi, director of the Ludwig Museum sponsoring the exhibition, adds “art can become an important social instrument, supplying real examples of coexistence and integration: OLTRE ROMA can be an excellent example with its world- famous artists, not only Hungarian and Italian. The fact that the Ludwig Muzeum has believed in this project since the very beginning, makes me particularly proud."

The exhibition OLTRE ROMA will take place in the historical Palazzo Falconieri, by architect Francesco Borromini, which has been the seat of the Hungarian Academy since 1927.
On this occasion also the main floor (piano nobile) of the palace will be open to the public.

THE ART BOOK “OLTRE ROMA”
On 25th November the limited edition art book “OLTRE ROMA” will be presented thanks to the generosity of the Hungarian Academy. The book (200 copies) is edited by Sabino Maria Frassà and Emiliano Biondeggi. It tells the story of contemporary man through the works exhibited and the writings of Italian and Hungarian authors: Agota Kristof, Italo Calvino, Pier Paolo Pasolini, Svetonio, Mihaly Vaci, Valentino Zeichen e Attila Jozsef.
22 artists on exhibition
Till January 13th at Palazzo Falconieri 60 works of 22 international artists selected by the curator Sabin Maria Frassà will be exhibited. The Polish artist Magdalena Abakanowicz will be the Guest of Honour with her work Face XXXI . Other Polish artists are Szilárd Cseke, sole protagonist of the Hungarian Pavilion at Venice Biennale 2015; Andi Kacziba, textile sculptor of the work “Altar of Sterility”; Zolt Asta, sole protagonist of the Hungarian Pavilion at Venice Biennale 2013; Zoltán Tombor, international photographer. Besides them there will be the young Hungarian talents David Merényi, Beáta Székely and KamiliaKard. The Italian artists are Eva Sorensen, who has been living in Italy since 1961 and who was the sole protagonist of the Italian Pavilion at Venice Biennale in 1981, Laura de Santillana, who took part at Venice Biennale in 2009, Alberto Di Fabio, whose personal exhibition was held at Macro in Rome in 2015, Elisabeth Scherffig (in Italy since 1978) and Daniele Salvalai, two artists Milan has entitled recent monographs to; HH LIM, Chinese artist living in Rome since 1976, who took part at Venice Biennale in 2013 and whose personal "Aspettando l’ispirazione” (“Waiting for inspiration”), is now on at the Museum Francesco Messina in Milan; Franco Mazzucchelli, present at Venice Biennale in 1976, Raffaele Penna , one of the best- known Italian fiber-artists, Luigi Presicce, a very famous Italian performer, Michele Volpe , visionary artist from Latina. Also the works of the young talents selected by CRAMUM award, Paolo Peroni, Francesca Piovesan, Eracle Dartizio, Michele Fato, are exhibited.
