The extraordinary story of the good ship Kadima, which set sail secretly from Pellestrina, destination the Promised Land, on 5 November 1947, with 794 Shoah survivors, and of the other ships that left from the same port.
Aliyah Bet: this was the codename for the clandestine immigration to Eretz Israel from Europe, in contravention of the provisions of the Aliah Aleph, the official limited Jewish immigration scheme imposed by the British Mandate between 1934 and 1948.
This exhibition has been made possible thanks to the generous loan of photographs by the CDEC Foundation - Centre of Contemporay Jewish Documentation - in Milan, and by Prof. Eldad Haruvi of the Palmach Museum in Tel-Aviv.
