On Sunday, October 26, 2014, at 18.30, will be inaugurated, at the charming Sacra di San Michele, the collective of contemporary art 'Prayers of artist'. The show, according to the intentions of the curator, Concetta Leto, emphasizes painters and sculptors working in Piedmont which while not dealing explicitly religious theme, well bind to the spiritual discourse.
The forty-six works selected trace mostly scenes of faith and holy emblematic of Christian history. Among these alternate landscapes and still lifes that represent the divine in everyday life.
Significant presence of the group Surfanta celebrating the fiftieth anniversary of the birth of such movement.
Along with the works of those Alessandri talk of Habakkuk, Macciotta, Pontecorvo, Molinari, Camerini and Colombotto Red. Next to them are placed other great masters such as missing Mazzonis, signora, Jervolino and Albano.
The exhibition also records the location of artists capable and virtuous in their original artistic expression as the architect Bruno, the Symbolists De Agostini and Fassetta, the informal Flis, the fantastic Forgione, the sculptor Garbolino Rù, the refined Lobalzo, the atmospheric Pauluzzo, the landscape Perugia, the realist Schwab, the delicate Spessot potter and the Vineyard. As he writes in his introduction Sgarbi (exhibition catalog), "it is 'a history lacerated compensation'. The warp path from Leto is absolutely original. From the core of Surfanta indicates a peculiar visionary dimension, even in the prevailing matrix realistic that seems to characterize all the artists mentioned originating in or active in Piedmont, as adoptive country, including dense thoughts and dreams. We watch them with gratitude. "
The event was sponsored by the MIBACT, the Piedmont Region, the Regional Council of Piedmont, the Province of Turin, the City of Giaveno and Urbino, the municipalities of Valgioie, St. Ambrose, Tranent, Coazze and Avigliana.
