One of the hills of Rome, mostly occupied by Villa Borghese. The scenic rise from Piazza del Popolo, the so-called Passeggiata del Pincio, was designed by Giuseppe Valadier (1834) during the embellishments of the city to conform with tendencies coming out of post-revolutionary France. The architect created stairways, perspectives, panoramic logge and allegorical statues, all leading to the incredible view at the top from Piazzale Napoleone.
