Hall of Perspectives
The hall is on the piano nobile and the frescoes were painted by Baldassarre Peruzzi between 1518 and 1519, who created a phony loggia with statues on a roman backdrop. The frieze atop the room shows mythological scenes, while over the fireplace is the
Fucina di Vulcano. The play of perspective created by Peruzzi set the standard for frescoes in architecture in the years to follow.
THINGS TO KNOW: On the walls of the hall, it is possible to see graffiti left by Landsknecht mercenaries during the sack of Rome in 1527
