Jordan's Hut
This painting is one of the last of the celebrated french painter who died in October of 1906. In July, the painter wrote to his son saying that he was working for Jourdan, a merchant-landowner in Beauregard. The painting shows the evolution of Cézanne from a simple visual portrayal to a sensation that the mind is at play in adding to the view. The painting was stolen in 1998, along with the two paintings of Van Gogh at the museum, but found only a few weeks later.
