This café was famous at the time of Charles Albert as the hangout of aristocrats, intellectuals and diplomats, so much so that it is regarded as one of the places where politics was thought about and enforced. Today you do not see as many politicians, but its appeal (and location) is left unchanged; nowadays here you come for ice cream – considered by many to be the best of the city – but also for a dessert or a late-night creamy marocchino, a small cappuccino with a sprinkling of cocoa. Its selection is wide and, it goes without saying, tasting certain treats sitting on the comfortable red velvet sofas feels heavenly.
