The museum, established in 1999, revolves around the collection of antique dealer Pietro Accorsi (1891-1982), XVIII-century furniture enthusiast. The collection is located in a palace built by Amedeo di Castellamonte in 1684, which can be well defined a very rich house-museum with rococo and neoclassical works. The second name of the museum comes from Giulio Ometto, the chair of the foundation. The works on display include as many as five pieces of furniture by Pietro Piffetti, the greatest Turin-native cabinet-maker from the XVIII century, including a “trumeau” dated 1738 made up of various types of wood, tortoise and mother of pearl.
