Turin Shroud Reliquary
The most precious item in the museum is unquestionably the case where the Turin Shroud was kept from the 16th century until 1998. It is a wooden box covered with silver leaf that is elegantly decorated with enamel and semi-precious stones. Another wooden box on display nearby was used to transport the sacred linen cloth from Chambery to Turin in 1578.
