In 1922, the great designer and photographer Mariano Fortuny, born in Spain but raised in Venice, founded a factory on Giudecca of fine and exclusive fabrics and handcrafted products. His fabrics have been appreciated and known all over the world: elegant, multicolored, made with a special kind of cotton (similar to silk), realized through a very complex process, strictly top secret. The showroom and shop is open to the public. The products of the Fortuny collections, such as lamps, fabrics, furnishings and clothing accessories are sold in VenetiaStudium shops. The entire collection is housed by the Fortuny Museum, next to Campo San Luca.
